The official website for the anime film BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- has released a new promotional video titled “Kakusei” (Awakening). The video introduces viewers to Nagi, the lazy genius of the series.

BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- is a spinoff of the popular Blue Lock soccer manga created by Kōta Sannomiya, Muneyuki Kaneshiro, and Yūsuke Nomura. The film is set to premiere in Japan on April 19, with screenings in North America scheduled for June 28.
The film will feature four mini-anime episodes called “BLUELOCK Additional Time!” that will be shown after the credits during the first four weeks of the film’s screening. Each week, a different mini-anime episode will be showcased. In addition, the film will be screened in IMAX, MX4D, and 4DX formats.
Crunchyroll, the popular streaming platform, will also screen the film in theaters across North America. It will be available with both English subtitles and an English dub.
The cast of BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- includes talented voice actors such as Nobunaga Shimazaki as Seishirō Nagi, Yūma Uchida as Reo Mikage, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Zantetsu Tsurugi, Kazuki Ura as Yoichi Isagi, Tasuku Kaito as Meguru Bachira, Yūki Ono as Rensuke Kunigami, Sōma Saitō as Hyōma Chigiri, Kōki Uchiyama as Rin Itoshi, Hiroshi Kamiya as Jinpachi Ego, and Subaru Kimura as Ryō Nameoka.
The film is directed by Shunsuke Ishikawa, who previously served as the assistant director for the Blue Lock television anime. Taku Kishimoto, known for his work on popular series like Haikyu!! and Silver Spoon, is supervising and writing the series scripts. The original manga’s creator, Muneyuki Kaneshiro, is overseeing the story, while Yūsuke Nomura is credited as the character designer. The music for the film is composed by Jun Murayama.
The theme song for BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- is titled “Stormy” and is performed by Nissy and SKY-HI. Nissy, also known as Takahiro Nishijima, is a member of the group AAA and has a successful solo career. SKY-HI is the solo project of Mitsuhiro Hidaka, another member of AAA.
BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi- is a prequel to the main Blue Lock manga and focuses on the character Seishirō Nagi before he enters the Blue Lock facility. The spinoff manga will be released in print by Kodansha USA Publishing in the fall of 2024.
The original Blue Lock manga, which follows the story of Japan’s national soccer team in their search for an Ace Striker, is also available in English digitally and in print.
