Hunter x Hunter Manga Teased for Return: Chapter 405 in Progress

Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of the popular manga series Hunter x Hunter, has once again teased the return of the manga. In a recent post on Twitter, Togashi shared a photo of a manuscript with the number 5 in the corner, indicating that he is currently working on chapter 405. The post also included the text “Moon Healing Escalation!” which is a reference to a healing move used by Sailor Moon, a series created by Togashi’s wife, Naoko Takeuchi.

Togashi continued to provide updates on his progress, as he posted another photo the following day. This time, the manuscripts featured the numbers 6 and 7, hinting at the development of chapters 406 and 407.

This news comes after Togashi hinted at the manga’s return last October when he shared a photo of a manuscript corner with the text “Start over.” In March 2023, he confirmed that chapter 401 had been completed, but did not provide a specific timeline for the manga’s serialization.

Hunter x Hunter’s Hiatus and Publisher’s Promise

Hunter x Hunter went on hiatus in January 2023 with chapter 400, citing Togashi’s health issues as the reason. The manga’s publisher, Shueisha, stated that they had consulted with Togashi and decided to change the serialization format going forward. They also promised to reveal more details about the manga’s return once they have concrete plans.

After a nearly four-year hiatus, Hunter x Hunter returned in October 2022 with the magazine’s 47th issue. The manga had been on hiatus since November 2018.
