The highly popular anime series, My Hero Academia, has just revealed that it will be getting a fourth film. The announcement was made during an event for the show’s sixth season.

Kōhei Horikoshi, the original manga creator, will be serving as the general supervisor and original character designer for the film. The story of the movie will be original and will take place around the same time as the current season of the TV anime, where the society is facing a collapse of safety.

Fans of the series will be delighted to know that the anime will be returning for a seventh season as well. The first season of My Hero Academia premiered in April 2016, followed by a second season in April 2017, a third season in April 2018, and a fourth season in October 2019. In August 2020, a two-episode original video anime was released, which was streamed by Funimation and Crunchyroll. The fifth season premiered in March 2021, and another two-episode original video anime was screened in June 2022, with Crunchyroll streaming the episodes.

In addition to the TV series, the My Hero Academia franchise has also produced three films. The first film, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, premiered in July 2018, followed by the second film, My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, in December 2019. The most recent film, My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes’ Mission, opened in Japan in August 2021 and later in the United States in October 2021, earning over US$10 million.
